We have graduated from a whelping box to our own xpen. Wow, a whole new world back here in the dog room. Mom said something about getting her Dining Room back... We also are now going out on the deck to an xpen to potty.

Last night we came into the living one one at a time and had special time with Momma Julia and Grandma Marjorie. We like to be couch potatoes, snuggle up and fall asleep.

Today is a special day. We will have our 4 week pictures taken. Mom says we have to "stack", whatever that is... We all discussed it and think we will be little stinkers... Mom will still love us anyway. : )

A LOT has been going on since the last post. Puppies are really cute, sweet and active. Girls 2, 4 and 6 will not stay in the whelping box! All are hearing and are so sweet and lovable. We didn't have time to attempt stack pictures at 3 weeks so will wait until 4 weeks to start that. Today we had our first puppy gruel. Oh did we love that!!

OH... we have come alive and turned into little dogs! : ) Eyes are open or almost open on all. They crawl and toddle to my voice when I say, "Hello beautiful babies!". At least four are now hearing,  even before their eyes were all the way open!

We started two week head photos, but will have to finish up today. I could just cuddle and love on these sweet little babies all day!

 

Puppies are two weeks old today! The number one girl has her eyes open! The black boy has both eyes cracked! Both are up on their feet although wobbly yet.

This morning I picked up the #1 Girl and she stopped wiggling and tried to focus on me as if she was thinking... "Yikes... so that is what you look like!" Too cute.

Nails to be trimmed today and first head shots to be taken.

Pups and Mom are all doing well. Eyes should be getting ready to open, but not yet. They are getting bigger and are starting to get up on their feet to walk. Spotting is just faintly visible.

Wow! The pups are already 1 week old today. Pups are all gaining weight, are strong and can really cover ground in the whelping box when they want to. They are good crawlers. : )

Puppies went to the vet this morning to be checked and dew claws removed. Puppies are eating well and Rachel is a very good mother. We weigh the puppies every day to ensure that they are gaining weight.

The puppies are here! Rachel delivered 2 boys and 6 girls on May 11, 2007! Will post color tomorrow. : ) Pups were all between 14 and 16 ounces. What a nice consistent sized litter. Good job Rachel!

We are all ready and Rachel has claimed the whelping box as her own. She loves the extra soft and cushioned crate pad fleece and is lounging all spread out on it. She is big and has started to get milk. Her due dates are Thurs - Monday. So now we let her relax and WAIT for the blessed event. No temperature drop as of yet...
